With so many Web sites selling luxury watch brands such as TAG Heuer and Rolex -- and some at discount prices -- how do consumers know they're buying the real thing?
"By buying from an authorized watch dealer on the Web," said Daniel Hirsch, executive vice-president of WatchNetwork.com. "This means having consent from the manufacturer and a valid warranty."
WatchNetwork.com, which went live in December, carries 12 authorized watch brands, such as TechnoMarine, Ventura, Boss Hugo Boss, Fortis and Skagen. Hirsch hopes to get authorization from high-end watch brands such as Rolex and TAG Heuer in the near future; but until then, it's hands-off.
