PARK CITY, Utah -- It was possible to spend an entire week at the Sundance Film Festival and not see a single film.

Just ask any of the hardworking fashion publicists who descended upon the normally quiet ski resort of Park City, Utah, from Jan. 19 to 28, intent on conquering the vast contingent of celebrities and industry executives on hand to promote their film and themselves.

Like an army, albeit one on a peaceful march, the publicists set up command posts at various condos around town and deployed their weapons -- free apparel, footwear and accessories -- from dawn until dusk. Their all-too-happy victims might as well have come naked, so laden were they with goodies.
