NEW YORK -- Men's wear veteran Michael Scandiffio has resigned as executive vice-president of Pacific Sunwear of California, effective immediately.

The news came the same day the teen retailer reported March same-store sales slipped 4.1 percent due to poor spring and summer apparel sales. PacSun also said it would take a onetime charge related to its planned move to a new distribution facility, which will lower expected earnings per share in the first quarter.

Following the news, the company's shares dropped $1.93 to $23.77 in over-the-counter trading.
