Flusser Teaming Up With Stein Mart

NEW YORK -- Designer Alan Flusser will design an exclusive collection of sportswear and tailored clothing for Stein Mart stores beginning this fall.

According to John Pennell, vice-president and GMM of men's wear at the Jacksonville, Fla., chain of value-oriented department stores, the first deliveries will be made in July and the collection will be on retail floors by early September. He said Stein Mart is planning a special event in a couple of stores around that time with Flusser, who will autograph his books and give fashion advice.

"We think this has possibilities in a lot of classifications, but we have it now in tailored goods, sport coats and slacks, and sportswear," Pennell said.
