When Amy Spindler saw an ad for a stylist/writer at DNR back in 1988, she knew she had found her dream job. However, a batch of missing clothes almost prevented her from ever reaching the Fairchild offices and her interview with then DNR editor-in-chief Edward Nardoza. "I had to cancel my interview with Ed so that I could go downtown and deal with this shoot," Spindler recalls. "I was heading downtown, but I had this instinct to go to the interview anyway. I must have made the cabbie go around the block three times before I finally decided to go to Fairchild."
