NEW YORK -- Domenico Spano is jumping ship.

Bergdorf Goodman Men's custom tailor extraordinaire has resigned to join Saks Fifth Avenue and will take over the space recently vacated by Alan Flusser on the sixth floor of the New York flagship.

Wayne Meichner, executive vice-president of merchandising for Saks, said Spano, known as "Mimmo," has agreed to join Saks and will start today. Meichner said he was hopeful that the company will be able to work out deals with Spano's staff to also make the switch.
