NEW YORK -- Marc Jacobs and Hedi Slimane were the big men's wear winners at last Monday's Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, held at the New York Public Library. Jacobs beat out Ralph Lauren and Sean John for Men's Wear Designer of the Year honors, while Slimane picked up his pre-announced International Award. Receiving his award from actor Alan Rickman, Jacobs thanked his longtime business partner, Robert Duffy, and "all the great talents" on his design team. But following dinner, the downtown darling admitted that "I still don't think of myself as a men's wear designer" and making frocks for the gals "is what I really love."
