SAN DIEGO -- Surf is making a comeback for spring 2003. That's the word from retailers and manufacturers who worked the Action Sports Retailer Expo (ASR) held at the San Diego Convention Center Sept. 5-7.

Tim Harmon, president and chief merchandising officer for the Anaheim, Calif.-based Pacific Sunwear and d.e.m.o. retail stores, first noticed the shift from skate to surf in February.
