NEW YORK -- Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. is expected to announce this week that Wayne Meichner will join the company to run its retail division, according to several prominent men's wear executives.
Meichner, who left Saks Fifth Avenue in May after a 23-year career, will be reunited with Roger Farah, president and chief operating officer of Polo, who served as GMM of men's at Saks while Meichner was a buyer.
Reached at his Connecticut home, Meichner would say only that after spending the summer "having fun with my kids," he had "accepted a position." He declined to say what company he would be joining or his specific job title. But industry sources said Meichner's new job is at Polo, although they did not specify his exact duties.
