Elegance is mixing with technical features in the golf world this year. Men want to be able to go straight from the course to the country club bar, but they also want to be dry and comfortable on the links.

Manufacturers at the PGA Merchandise Show, held at the Orange County Convention Center here Jan. 23-26, offered retailers luxury fabrics and even dressy trousers with unfinished bottoms, but many categories, particularly outerwear, also combined moisture management, and wind- and rain- proof or -resistant features.

Outerwear fabrics ranged from leather and suede jackets to fully seamed microfiber models, and Greg Norman even introduced a knit outerwear line.
