NEW YORK -- Modern Tuxedo, a 25-door Chicago tuxedo rental and sales chain, has married into May Department Stores Co.'s Bridal Group family.
May Co. last week purchased the inventory, leases and name of the retailer for an undisclosed cash sum.
The acquisition gives the firm a men's formalwear presence in Chicago. So far, May Co.'s After Hours Formalwear business, which has designs on a national presence, operates 238 doors, mostly east of the Mississippi River.
