NEW YORK -- For the first time since 1983, Ralph Lauren will include men's looks in his high-profile spring '04 women's shows during New York Fashion Week. The only other time the designer has mixed male and female models in a show has been in Japan.
7th on Sixth, the organizers of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, as the New York shows are officially known, has blocked out three successive time slots on Friday, Sept. 19, for Lauren's multiple shows, at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
"This is another way for us to show men's," said Lauren of the move, during a presentation of his spring designs for the Polo and RLX labels, held in his Madison Avenue showroom. "I wanted to try something different this season."
