A new generation gap has emerged in the men's market, and the dividing line appears to be age 18.

Men have spent much of this year warming up to and buying new looks for their wardrobes, prompted by new styles and, in some cases, the simple need for replenishment. The return of pink "is just an example of the level of newness and sophistication that young men have today," noted Lee Giordano, a specialty retail analyst at New York-based Independent Research Group.

But the embrace of fashion is apparently far tighter for young male adults ...
