LONDON -- Peter Lucas is cracking the U.S. market with a simple strategy: He's selling English service -- and royal kudos -- along with well-cut suits.
The chairman and chief executive of BMB Group, the Leeds-based men's and women's clothing company, and the U.K. licensee for Haggar and Arrow, is the man behind the Alexandre Savile Row brand, which sells -- in an unconventional format -- in the U.S. Currently, there are four shop-in-shops, at Marshall Field's and Macy's West. Later this month, Macy's units in San Francisco and Pacific Plaza in Los Angeles will begin selling the line.
