NEW YORK -- After helping to turn around Filene's Basement, the off-price department store's president and chief executive, Heywood Wilansky, is now charged with doing the same for its parent company.
Wilansky has been promoted to president and CEO of Retail Ventures Inc., succeeding the departing John Rossler. Edwin Kozlowski, executive vice-president and chief operating officer, will also leave the company, but his successor has not yet been named.
Taking over as CEO of Filene's Basement around Nov. 15 will be Mark Shulman, previously chief operating officer of Retail Brand Alliance, which owns of Brooks Brothers. Wilansky joined Filene's Basement in early 2003, after more than three decades of...
