There was a decided echo in the San Diego Convention Center earlier this month, and it sounded a lot like spring 2005.

Surf and skate labels convened at the Action Sports Retailer (ASR) show Jan. 14 to 16 to exhibit their apparel offerings for fall, but not much had changed since last season.

Most of the staples of spring and summer -- including striped wovens, art-inspired T-shirts, beefed-up denim and track jackets -- were back, some having evolved slightly.
