NEW YORK -- Scoop has turned to J. Crew to fulfill its quest for the ultimate men's shirt.

Last week the trendy New York-based specialty store chain introduced a line of finely tailored men's shirts manufactured exclusively for the stores by J. Crew.

"This is a new thing for us," said Jeff Pfeifle, president of J. Crew. "It came about because we think so highly of [Scoop cofounder] Stefani [Greenfield]. She asked if we would consider doing a line of shirts for her and we said yes. She has the same principles as we do and pays a lot of attention to color, fit and quality. And if you've ever been to her stores, you know they have a wonderful energy."
