Two upscale men's retailers see a brighter future in doing more with their current locations and assortments than in redefining them.

Speaking at the DNR Menswear CEO Summit, Mario Bisio, president of Mario's in Portland, Ore., and Seattle, and Bob Mitchell, co-president of Mitchells/Richards in Westport, Conn., appeared to turn thumbs-down on the concepts of additional stores or store concepts and instead to favor a flexible merchandise mix based on their current assortments and growth stemming from their current locations and formats. Their discussion was led by Jean E. Palmieri, DNR's deputy editor, retail.
