NEW YORK -- The Venice Beach skaters of the 1970s loved nothing better than to doff their shirts and let the California sun bronze their backs. Fortunately, the actors who portray the legendary Z-Boys in Lords of Dogtown stay clothed long enough to ensure high visibility for several old-school surf and skate labels. Columbia Pictures' feature film, released June 3, brims with conspicuously branded merchandise from some of the '70s' most revered beach brands. The movie, based on the 2001 documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys, gives plenty of screen time to brands such as Op, Body Glove and that staple of the '70s closet, Hang Ten.
