LOS ANGELES -- Surf/skate brand Hurley International and sneaker maker Converse, both fully owned subsidiaries of Nike Inc., are testing the waters of corporate synergy by collaborating on footwear starting with the spring-summer '06 season.

The line, which will bear the Hurley name and will pair Converse's operational infrastructure with Hurley's brand strategy, design and marketing, consists of five silhouettes including beach sandals and skate shoes. The line will be marketed globally by Converse to better independent and specialty retail stores at price points ranging from $30 to $75.
