NEW YORK -- Outerwear and sportswear giant G-III Apparel Group has acquired two privately held outerwear companies -- Marvin Richards and Winlit -- for a total of $26.5 million in cash and stock.
In addition to each company's sizable private-label business, G-III gains the license for Calvin Klein men's and women's outerwear with its purchase of Marvin Richards. Sammy Aaron, president of Marvin Richards, has been named president of the new Marvin Richards division as well as a vice-chairman and director of G-III.
The Winlit acquisition, which was for $7.3 million, gives G-III the license for men's and women's outerwear for Guess, Tommy Hilfiger leather outerwear, London Fog and Pacific Trail. David Winn, president of Winlit Group Ltd., has joined...
