ATLANTA - AmericasMart's Alpha had a lot to celebrate at its most recent show, held Oct. 8-10 at the Atlanta Apparel Mart, not the least of which was the official opening of the men's apparel showrooms.

The Mart held the ribbon-cutting opening on Sunday evening, along with hors d'oeuvres, an open bar and entertainment by jazz group Marsha DuPree & Odyssey, near the new showrooms, which include Chaps/Ralph Lauren, Enyce, Puma, Rocawear, Sean John, Akademiks and Timberland. Michael Knight, the young Atlanta women's wear sportswear designer who is making a name for himself on Project Runway, told DNR at the event that he may be designing a men's sportswear collection in the future.
