NEW YORK - The average guy is more fabulous than ever.

Or at least, he shaves more regularly, styles his hair more frequently, and, in one of the more significant changes for the men's grooming industry, cares more about how he smells.

"The men's fragrance business this year is significantly outperforming last year," said Howard Kreitzman, vice-president of cosmetics and fragrances at Bloomingdale's. The department store doesn't release sales figures, but men's fine fragrances, said Kreitzman, are posting double-digit sales increases this year, even before the big holiday push.
