NEW YORK - After two years of very slight sales gains and some dips in earnings, Kenneth Cole Productions has decided to take its flagship sportswear business in-house as part of its ongoing effort to reposition and elevate its Kenneth Cole New York and Reaction brands.
Earlier this month, the company said it will end its Kenneth Cole New York sportswear license with Paul Davril Inc. early, taking control of the collection next year. (The license was scheduled to expire at the end of 2007.) The two companies will work together to ensure a seamless transition of the business, and the first men's collection to be fully produced and distributed by KCP will be spring 2008.
