WORK 'N GEAR LIQUIDATING STORES.(Brief article)

NEW YORK - Work 'N Gear, a Weymouth, Mass.-based workwear chain, is liquidating 37 locations and has hired Hilco Merchant Resources, a Northbrook, Ill.-based asset-disposition firm that is credited with closing stores for retailers ranging from Toys 'R' Us to Gadzooks, to conduct the sales.

Reached by DNR last week, Len Berliner, senior vice-president of marketing and advertising for Hilco Merchant Resources, confirmed market reports, saying: "We are managing store-closing sales at 37 Work 'N Gear locations."

Executives at Work 'N Gear did not return calls for comment.
