Eddie Bauer's shareholders put the kibosh on the company's proposed sale to Sun Capital Partners Inc. and Golden Gate Capital last week. In a statement last Thursday, the Redmond, Wash.-based retailer said that an insufficient number of shares were voted in favor of the $614 million purchase at a special meeting. As a result, Bauer said, it will continue to operate as a stand-alone, publicly traded company and its board of directors will "be evaluating appropriate next steps for the company."
Diesel will open a Los Angeles flagship this April at 8401 Melrose Place in the West Hollywood neighborhood. The 3,500-square-foot store is situated on a prime corner location on the ground floor of an 1896 building that formerly housed an antiques business. The flagship...
