The DB2 RECOVER utility is a standard tool for rebuilding tablespaces and indexspaces. In doing the rebuild, the utility accesses the DB2 active and archive logs, but as the amount of log data increases, performance starts to become a problem. Also, difficulties in log storage and tape mounts can result.
In order to address these problems, the RECOVER utility can also use tablespace image copies for the recovery, thereby decreasing the quantity of log records applied. These image copies are created with the DB2 COPY utility. This utility creates both a full and incremental tablespace image ...
