The Internet and intranet are quickly becoming a mainstream way to conduct enterprise business. Using the Web lets the enterprise communicate with others both inside and outside the organization, giving it a key strategic advantage. The Web offers several advantages over two-tier client/server solutions, in that the issue of software distribution is unnecessary, because all the client needs is a browser to connect.
