Many of the legacy systems on mainframe servers have networks that are run on COBOL or COBOL II code and are not year 2000 compliant. For systems to be year 2000 compliant, they need to have the correct release of CICS in addition to having the correct level of COBOL applications. The products these legacy systems need by the end of 1999 are a compiler by IBM called COBOL for MVS and a run-time library called Language Environment for MVS.
