A technical guide to understanding data relationships in a corporate warehouse is presented. The term 'data mining' is often applied indiscriminately but can be understood as a set of techniques for automating exhaustive analysis of complex data relationships. Verification-based analytical tools are serial and rely on the analyst's intuition and insight to produce a hypothetical question; human limitations in managing attribute space and posing appropriate questions affect their usefulness.
