IBM Restructures Domino for Unstructured Data.(Lotus RNext groupware)(Product Announcement)

Lotus Development Corp. plans to closely integrate the next version of its flagship Domino messaging, groupware and collaboration platform with Big Blue's DB2 database and WebSphere Web application server products.

Lotus, an IBM Corp. subsidiary, says that the version of Domino which it expects to ship sometime next year, dubbed RNext, will make it easier for enterprise developers to create applications that seamlessly interoperate with DB2 and WebSphere.

As a result of the tighter degree of integration among the three data repositories, Lotus says, developers will be able to build Domino applications that exploit the data management capabilities of DB2 and WebSphere's Java Server Page (JSP) capabilities.
