Caldera Intoduces OpenLinux and Open Unix 8.(Brief Article)(Product Announcement)

Caldera Systems Inc. has introduced the latest release of the server version of its server operating system, OpenLinux Server. In addition, it introduced the eighth iteration of its Unix operating system, Open Unix.

OpenLinux Server is based on the 2.4 kernel, bringing it up to date to support more hardware and software. Caldera includes its proprietary management tools in the distribution. Volution, a network management framework, has agents pre-installed in the distribution, and Webmin, a browser-based management engine, is provided.
