Siebel apps ready for IBM's iSeries. (Industry watch).

Rounding out its integration with IBM Corp's eServer line of midrange and high-end servers, e-business powerhouse Siebel Systems Inc. has announced support for its eBusiness 2000 offering on IBM's midrange iSeries platform.

The iSeries was the only eServer on which Siebel had not yet validated its e-business application suite, and the release comes after a somewhat lengthy wait.

IBM and Siebel have worked since June 2000 to port Siebel's e-business applications to the AS/400 platform, since renamed the iSeries. However, Carlos Chou, vice president of Siebel's worldwide alliances with IBM, says there were some challenges Siebel had to face prior to the iSeries release.
