Distributor changes hands
Greencore plc - formerly Irish Sugar - has bought Drummonds Minchnorton (DM) from Food Industries for I58 million [pounds] million ($92 million). The acquisition of the DM strengthens Greencore's involvement in fertilizers, as DM last year sold 60,000 tonnes via its retail and merchant activities. Greencore bought the country's largest blender, Grassland Fertilizers, for I12 million [pounds] last year. Market observers speculate whether DM would become the retailing arm for Grassland.
