When the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle distributed its awards, the musical Reefer Madness picked up seven of them, with honors going to director Andy Flickman, composers Kevin Murphy and Dan Studney and performer Christian Campbell, among others. Circle X Theatre's production of Louis Slotkin Sonata, by Paul Mullin, won the Ted Schmitt Award for outstanding world premiere.
