When Broadway show people Alexander H. Cohen, the legendary producer who died on April 22 at the age of 79, they tend to speak of his elegant manner and lavish style--the grand gestures that won him his reputation as a great showman. (The industry is still clucking about the red carpet he had laid on Sixth Avenue to guide people to the Hilton Hotel for the gala supper-dance that followed the "Night of 100 Stars" at Radio City Music Hall.) Those extravagant ways could put noses out of joint.
