New York City: For 20 years, Varese Sarabande was a leading producer of theatre music on LP and, later, CD. Last year, however, the company changed its focus to movie soundtracks, leaving musical theatre fans in the lurch. Picking up the slack is Bruce Kimmel, a former producer with Varese Sarabande who has launched a new label, Fynsworth Alley, dedicated to theatre-related recordings.
