After years of timid treatments, three major revisionist productions of Uncle Tom's Cabin are making the rounds. Robert Alexander's version (simply titled Uncle Tom's Cabin) gears up at San Diego's Repertory Theatre for a cross-country sweep; the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company starts its European tour with Last Supper at Uncle Tom's Cabin/The Promised Land; and a co-production between Seattle's Empty Space Theatre and San Francisco's Alice B. Theatre--titled Unkle Tomm's Cabin: A Deconstruction of the Novel by Harriet Beecher Stowe--closes at the Empty Space.
