The 26th annual Laurence Olivier Awards, presented in February at London's Victoria Palace, gave a nod to only one Yank this year: August Wilson, whose Jitney earned the best play award (edging out the odds-on favorite, Humble Boy by Charlotte Jones). Other winners included the Royal Shakespeare Company's Michael Boyd for his direction of all three parts of Henry VI and Richard III; and Grae Cleugh and Benjamin Davies--both recognized for the provocatively titled Fucking Games--for most promising playwright and most promising performer, respectively.
