Rising with the rest of the audience at New York's Japan Society in April 2002 to cheer Akira Kasai's inspired Pollen Revolution, I wondered at the stupidity and narrow-mindedness of Michael Kustow's ill-informed rejection of what he calls "theatrical internationalism" ("Cross-border Theatre in a Globalized World," May/June '02)--what the rest of the world knows as intercultural performance.
