When producers Gordon Davidson, Robert Marx and Kenneth Brecher were researching international theatre companies as potential invitees to the 1984 Olympics Art Festival, they turned to the library of the International Theatre Institute/U.S., then housed in a space directly across from Lincoln Center in New York City.
