Outside P.S. 122 in Manhattan's East Village, the energy charging the air is palpable. Inside the complex's double doors clusters a crowd of hip, multi-hued, mostly under-thirty-fives, while outside an anxious mob swarms the box office. Off to one side stands a dejected group, their faces mirroring the response to the posted "Sold Out" signs.
