HOUSTON: On Sept. 8, 1900, Galveston, a long, skinny island off the coast of Texas, endured one of the worst storms in U.S. history. Thomas Meloncon's The Laws of Storms, which premieres Sept. 12-Oct. 13 at the Main Street Theater under Manning Mpinduzi-Mott's direction, takes place as the weather-beaten community regroups.
