Arthur Miller is the first dramatist to receive the Praemium Imperiale Award, Japan's prestigious answer to the Nobel Prize. Miller took home a medal, a testimonial letter and a $125,000 prize in September for lifetime achievement in theatre and film in a ceremony held at the Japan Society in New York.
