FAMILY STORIES' Biljana Srbljanovic In keeping with the turbulent political reality of her home town--Belgrade, Serbia--Blijana Srbljanovic's prize-winning play Family Stories is (in the words of its translator, Rebecca Ann Rugg) a "slapstick tragedy." The 31-year-old dramatist, well known and widely produced in Eastern Europe and Germany, uses elements of vaudeville, Punch-and-Judy farce and absurdism to explore the moral dilemmas posed by political violence.
