Having purchased the "Beckett on Film" DVD box set a few months back, I read Jonathan Kaib's "Stardust Melancholy" (Jan. '03) with great interest. His concern for Beckett's legacy is of course shared by all devotees of the Beckett canon, myself included. Having said that, I nonetheless feel that Mr. Kalb can rest easy: The works are for the most part in good hands, and the project largely does the canon proud. (I do imagine, though, that Sam himself would have been less than thrilled.)
