We were doing what playwrights always do during the rare times we're together as a group: playing Celebrity. It was winter in Montana and Doug Wright, Paula Vogel, Octavio Solis, Jerome Hairston and I--as well as composers Jeanine Tesori and Luis Perez--had flopped around in a nine-seater plane to get to the Sundance Playwrights Retreat at the Ucross Foundation in Wyoming, where we were spending three weeks together in February 2000. This meant time for several rousing bouts of a game at which, I must demurely confess, I kick ass.
