We were doing what playwrights always do during the rare times we're together as a group: playing Celebrity. It was winter in Montana and Doug Wright, Paula Vogel, Octavio Solis, Jerome Hairston and I--as well as composers Jeanine Tesori and Luis Perez--had flopped around in a nine-seater plane to get to the Sundance Playwrights Retreat at the Ucross Foundation in Wyoming, where we were spending three weeks together in February 2000.
