At last report, Wimberly was still firmly on planet Earth, but the former medical researcher is indeed a dramatist. Her first play, St. Lucy's Eyes, starred Ruby Dee at two Off-Broadway theatres in 2001 (it premiered at New York's Women's Project & Productions) and at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre Company last spring, and a possible film version is under discussion.
