CREATING A STAGE ADAPTATION FROM a difficult-to-locate, stream-of-consciousness novella written in 1924 in another language might not seem like an actor's obvious choice for a tour de force--but that's exactly the project Francesca Faridany launched a few years ago. What began as a whimsical chase to track down Arthur Schnitzler's Fraulein Else (Faridany finally located a 1925 copy in the Austrian Institute in New York City) eventually came to fruition as a multicharacter play, directed by Stephen Wadsworth.
