U/RTA, a.k.a. the University/Resident Theatre Association, bridges two related worlds. On one hand, there it is an association of 33 professional graduate training programs located on campuses around the country. Schools committed to excellence in education, and to the idea that theatre artists should be no less trained for their careers than doctors are for theirs. On the other hand, there is a service organization helping theatres, universities and other institutions around the world to employ professional artists, enrich their productions and better serve their communities.
